京都や浅草のそば屋をはじめ、いったい日本中に何軒の「尾張屋」さんがあるのでしょう。こちら堀留は人形町通り沿いにあるおそば屋さん「尾張屋」。如何にも町場のおそばやさんの風情ですが、そのお味たるや如何でしょうか。あまり考えずに暖簾を押したものだから、すぐさま食券を買わなければいけないシチュエーションに慌てて、目に留まった「かき揚げおろし」と口走る。オバチャンは「冷たいンじゃなくて、温かいの？」と訊く。あ、そっか、基本、冷たいそば用のメニューだ。ただ、頭の中はすっかり温かいおそばモード。「あ、温かいので」。先に届いたかき揚げは、こんもりとしながらボテっとしたところの感じられない、意外や軽妙な仕立て。そこへかけそばが添えられてくる。折角のサクサクがもったいない気がして、お皿の上でかき揚げを適当なところで千切っては、そばと一緒に口へ。う～ん。大変失礼ながら、駅そばと比較したら上品で美味しいかぁと思ってしまった。すんません。よくある、どんぶりとのセットものメニューを横目に改めてお品書きを見たら、ひとつだけ気になるメニューがありました。ありそでなさそな「豚角煮うどん」。冷たいうどんと豚角煮との取り合わせや果たして。 「尾張屋」　中央区日本橋堀留町1－１１－７　03-3661-4488
