築地４丁目信号を挟んで場外の斜向かいの一角にも料理屋さんが並んでいる筋があって、その中の一軒が「ふじや」さん。店頭には、「角煮定食」「かつお丼」「牛肉オイル焼き」「和風シューマイ定食」「さばの味噌煮」といったお品書きが黒い札で掲げられています。暖簾を捲くると、店内のカウンターには先客がひとり。もう１２時も廻ろうとしているのにどうしたことでしょう。カウンター奥に佇むと、薄暗がりに漂うどこかどんよりした空気に包まれる気配がします。「ぶり照焼」をお願いしました。割と大き目の鰤の載った角皿。ベタつかず塩辛過ぎずの味付けは悪くないけど、熱々が食べたかったなぁというのが正直なところ。今焼いたワケではなくて、焼いておいてあったってことなのかなと思わす、緩い温度なのです。忙しいランチ時に焼き魚煮魚を美味しく供することの難しさに改めて直面したような気のするひと時でもありました。帰り際に女将さんが問わず語り。いつもはもっと混み合うンですけど、曜日によってムラがあるんですよぉ。いや、あの、私、そんな顔色してました？ 「築地 ふじや」 中央区築地２－１５－４　03-3541-0035
